about

With acclaimed recent releases from the likes of Arnaud Rebotini, Remote and Maelstrom, ZONE Records - the imprint set up by Gesaffelstein and The Hacker - is fast establishing itself one of Europe's leading labels for hard hitting electronic music. Keeping up the pace ZONE return with the 'Abyssal Zone' EP, the latest release from one of France's most respected producers, Djeddjotronic.

Featuring three tracks of mesmerizing techno and electro, 'Abyssal Zone' sees Djedjotronic, aka Jeremy Cottereau, in imperious form, picking up from he left us with the critically acclaimed Kaiko EP on Boys Noize Records earlier this year.

Kicking off with the title track, six minutes of Drexciyan electro that conjures up visions of primordial sea creatures, long forgotten leviathans drifting through the ruins of sunken cities.

On 'Junk Box' Cottereau channels the likes of Mayday and Anthony Shakir for a techno house hybrid that powered along by an undulating, throbbing bass line and jacking rhythms manages to be both menacing and surprisingly funky at the same time.

Ending the EP on an urgent claustrophobic note, ‘Trouble’ pairs rattling industrial percussion with menacing pulses of synthetic noise to alarming effect, sounds echoing off only heightening the track's disorientating effect.

Since his debut release in 2007 Djedjotronic has firmly established himself as one of Europe's leading producers with several acclaimed releases on Boys Noize Records, remixes for the likes of Gonzales, Tiga, Surkin, and Miss Kittin and appearances at some of the world's biggest music events including I Love Techno, Dour and Sonar.
